Retirement for Dora

Happy News: Dora loves her

whole new family with two girls.

X-We are now looking for a retirement home for Dora.X

OK, what’s retirement? When a dog is finished with their “career” multiple dog owners will sometimes look for a place where an adult can kick back and be an only dog or maybe one of two dogs. I confess that I am a *slight* Airedale hoarder! We are home here to several Airedales and I think they get lots more attention by locating someone that wants just them.

*DORA*

How about some info on Dora? Well, her stats are like this:

Born: February 16, 2007      Hips: OFA Excellent

Registry: AKC      Sex: Female (to be spayed)

Health status: Excellent and up to date until May 2014

Reg. Name:  Dorrett v. Buckower Polsterhof (Call Name: DORA) German Import

Sire: VDH/KFT/L CH/CH Jgd KFT Othello von der Laubenhaid KFT 01/33657

Hip rated HDF-A1 obedience and performance titles: BH/VT, AD, FH II, VPG III, IPO I

Dam: Coco vom Buckower-Polsterhoff  HDF, BH

Personality: Very affectionate and even wants to trip you by staying too close–this could be annoying or endearing, depending on what you think of it! Favorite trick–rolls over on her back for belly rubs faster than you can say “Are you a good girl?” Walks gently on lead without pulling and doesn’t jump up on people unless encouraged to do so.

Enjoys good appetite and eats neatly but water drips from beard (it’s an Airedale thing). LOVES rubs behind the ear. Enjoys other dogs if they aren’t too rough in playing; doesn’t like other dominant females. Trained to be crated while you are away and I would recommend that to be safe to avoid miscommunication about when she needs to go out. Copes happily  with loud noisy environment–rowdy parties, new loud people, construction/remodeling in the house, stuff like that.

Fall back retirement job: She might be a wonderful therapy dog as she is SO gentle.

Where’s she been for the last year or so? My son, Tim, grew up with the Airedales, naturally. He bought a new house and wanted to work with an Airedale for the first time on his own. Now his work schedule has changed and he can’t be home enough to take care of her. So Mom is looking for a permanent place for our girl Dora–yes, he did the same thing with Ronnie before!

Price: Like the commercial says, priceless…..to the right person who can love her like she deserves.

  1. I know this was posted in August but I thought I would check to see if you have found a retirement home for Dora yet?

    Sincerely,

  2. I can’t seem to find an email address. We have one of your Airedales (Lucy, age 5) and are thinking of another one. We are open to a puppy or adult. I can’t seem to find any information about what you may have available. I have included my email in my reply. Please respond when you have some time. Thank you, Carey Cummings
